Hurley Village Hall is suitable for large or small functions and it is available for hire throughout the year and boasts a large hall, bar area, private meeting room and a kitchen with excellent and flexible facilities. We are home to many regular groups and available to hire for meetings, conferences, wedding receptions, dances, social events, theatre productions, wakes, craft fairs, jumble sales and and all types of parties and family celebrations. Unfortunately the hall is not suitable for teenage or young adult parties.

A community facility for the people and businesses of the area.

All hirers of the hall do so on condition that they leave the hall in the good state they find it.  This means sweeping or vacuuming floors, mopping-up after any spillages and wiping all surfaces.  The Village Hall is a strictly No Smoking area, in all rooms and corridors. Hurley Village Hall is well equipped and and an ideal venue for wedding receptions, meetings, conferences, dances, shows, musicals and all types of parties. It measures 5.4m x 18.5 m, groups of up to 80 people can be accommodated in the Main Hall seated at tables and 100 using theatre style seating. A bar area is provided at the eastern end of the hall which is adjacent to the fully equipped kitchen. The double glazed windows on the southern aspect provide plenty of natural light. All windows have blinds fitted giving suitable conditions for media presentations. The exposed beams and vaulted ceiling make an attractive setting for any event. Lighting is provided at high level when required. Full stage curtains are fitted for use with shows or pantomimes with portable staging being used. Central heating is provided throughout the building at appropriate times of the year. The Hall has recently been extensively refurbished with grant assistance from the Lottery Funding.  

The village pantomime is always very popular with the hall providing a ideal venue for this annual extravaganza.

Meeting Room

The Meeting Room has an area of approximately 30m². It is ideal for smaller functions, business meetings, training sessions or for local group get-togethers. It can be hired on its own or in combination with the main hall. For weddings and parties it is recommended to book both Main Hall and Meeting Room together with the Kitchen as this gives better access for guests, space for cloaks and a dedicated bar area. Seating capacity is for up to 30 people.


You can use external caterers for your event or make use of the well equipped kitchen. This is next to the bar area and you will find all that you need, facilities include:

Two electric double ovens
Two electric hobs
Double stainless sinks
Serving Hatch

The use of our tables, chairs and crockery is included in the hire charges.

There are 25 rectangular tables (approx 1.8m x 0.8m) that can accommodate about 8 people per table, and 3 round tables (approx 1.2m diameter) that will easily seat 6 per table and 100 comfortable upholstered chairs. There are cups, plates and cutlery for approximately 80 people, but please check stocks when viewing the hall, to be certain your needs can be met.

Bar  Area

The bar area is at the eastern end of the Main Hall and adjacent to the kitchen. A seating area which can take up to five 1.2 metre round tables with comfortable padded chairs provides an ideal space for meeting and greeting people as they arrive. The bar has a large fridge and sufficient space for displaying and storing the liquid refreshments for any event.

If you wish to sell alcohol you will need to apply for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) which will cost £21. The link to the online application form for a TEN is here.

Other Information


The hall has disabled access and facilities. Off the entrance hall are toilets for Men, Women and Disabled Persons together with baby changing facility.  

Car Parking

There are a number of spaces on the Village Hall site. There is also free parking in Hurley High Street in the designated areas.

No Smoking

A “No Smoking” policy operates throughout the site, failure to adhere to will forfeit deposit monies.

In accordance with our entertainment license and out of consideration for neighbouring houses, musical entertainment must finish at 11pm and there is Noise Limiter fitted.  This Noise Limiter will cut the power circuit if the noise level reaches 90 decibels with the windows and Fire Door closed, or 70 decibels if either windows or door are open. When using the courtyard and leaving the hall, we would ask all guests to minimize noise levels to respect the neighbours.
